Getting Recombobulated after being Discombobulated

Preparing For Going Forward

In this post, I will be reflecting on the disorienting journey of the Ekklesia, in which we have experienced transition as we are preparing for the coming restoration. I will also be sharing my personal reflections on the prophetic words, biblical verses, linked with the Hebraic year. The significance of our being prepared is directly related to how we will progress through the upcoming five-year period. We will need to embrace the process and remain connected to specific sources for support and guidance as we progress.

Recombobulation after the discombobulation

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1 Peter 5:10 (NIV)

I Fell Short

When I received the above verse from the Lord as a prophetic word in early autumn 2021, [see post from onset of the Hebraic year 5782] it didn’t occur to me that I /we were going into a season of greater difficulty than the one from which we were emerging. Frankly, I forgot what God already said. I got caught up in overwhelming circumstances, got disoriented and ended up battling discouragement. Getting a prophetic word doesn’t always mean I fully grasp what God is conveying. And after all, I am human too. Anyway,

The word should have been a heads up. It wasn’t. I thought we were coming out of the suffering in 2022 and headed into recovery. I don’t know about you, but the past two years have all but unraveled every aspect of my existence. If I had gone back and reread what the Lord had already said, I might have faced things differently. I didn’t. That is until something happened this past week that prompted me to do just that. My hope is that you will be encouraged as well.

My review over the past few days has helped in so many ways. My perspective shifted, giving me greater resolve to keep going.

This Past Week

I was scrolling through FB on Wednesday May 1st. Something I don’t do often. I came across a post that caught my attention. It was of a photo of sign that hangs just beyond the TSA check point at Milwaukee’s, Mitchell Airport. In an effort to give travelers a place to regroup after being discombobulated going through TSA, former Mitchell Airport director, Barry Bateman, created a designated spot. He called it the Recombobulation Area. This made-up word has since come to mean: Something being put back the way it was, or into proper working order or gathering one’s thoughts or composure.

One cannot recombobulate without having first being discombobulated. I can definitely confirm that I have been utterly and completely discombobulated. I won’t bore you with the details.

My Aha Moment

I was reminded of a prophetic word the Lord gave me at the onset of the Hebraic year 5782. (Sept. 2021) It was a prophetic word picture. The word uses the imagery of going through the airport to convey the process of preparation the Ekklesia would be facing. (I will be writing an updated version over the next week or so)

I don’t. know about you, but I could use a Recombobulation zone about now.

Headed Toward Fulfillment

The gist of it is that we are headed toward the fulfillment of promises that will launch us into our destiny calling. The airport imagery conveys the process we would undergo on our way to the vehicle that would get us to our destination.

The airport isn’t the destination. It conveys the necessary process we have to go through in order to connect with the vehicle (airplane) that will get us to where God is taking us. The picture, as a whole, is all about transition. That means it’s all about the dalet.

5784 is the year of dalet.
Transitioning us from where we are to where we need to be. Beyond Transition into Transformation

Getting Our Bearings

Periodically, we have to stop and reorient before going forward. That’s the idea that goes with the recombobulation area. It’s where most of us are right now. My brief reorienting this past week reconnected me with the prophetic words the Lord gave me in the earlier years of the Peh decade.

When I went back and reread what the Lord had already spoken, I was encouraged. I pray you will be too.

The current Hebraic year is 5784.

Peh Dalet – 84

5784 is identified with the Hebrew letter dalet.

The spiritual energy emanating from dalet transition. It derives this property to convey spiritual advancement from the power resident in the breath of the Living God. Contained within the essence of the dalet is the fundamental ability to transfer, transport and transition; moving and shifting us from where we are to where we need to be. Dalet is the opening (door) created by God through which He causes change and movement in the Ekklesia of Christ.

Since 5784 is all about transition, that means we’re going to get a bit discombobulated from time to time. It’s just a byproduct of transition. Reminding ourselves that this is a year of transition can help us to not get overwhelmed by the natural fall out.

Handling the Fear of the Unknown

In preparation for the journey, we need to take only what we really need. Like going on an airplane, we don’t pack up the whole house for the journey. We only take what is necessary for the trip. When we keep in mind that we are in transition we are better able to navigate the fear of the unknown, which can dominate times of transition.

When we keep our perspective on the fact that we are in transition it can make for a smoother, less stressful process. It frees our minds so that we can focus our attention on the task at hand. Otherwise we spend our mental and emotional energy trying to figure things out rather than remaining in peace and assurance, despite living in the realm of the unknown.

The idea behind transition is to bring something entirely new.

Transitions are a place of ever evolving fluidity. That means things are in a state of constant change. The sooner we come to terms with these progressive shifts the easier it is to let go of where we’ve been. That in turn frees us up to lay hold of the new thing God is doing in our lives.

When change is thrust upon us, our lives are turned upside-down. That usually means the life we once knew is gone. During this transitional process we will probably have to take some time out to grieve the losses.

Quote from 5782 book

Holy Spirit said: “The way has been closed, keeping you in a season of dryness and drought. This has not been without purpose. You feel like everything you ever knew about Me has been erased or at the very least out of reach. You cannot comprehend how you got to this place of such extreme emptiness. I assure you it has been at My hand. It was needful so that I can refashion, reshape and refill you with My Spirit. And that is exactly what I intend to do. All the old patterns, and pathways you have walked have been erased. I have a new way for you to go. In order for you to step into this NEW way, onto this NEW path you needed to lose your bearings so that you do not resort to the old way, even the patterns you developed over the years in prayer, reading My word and especially your way of doing ministry. I caused you to lose your compass. Yes, you have been wandering rather aimlessly for a while now. Again, I have a plan. I will show you the NEW path. Now when you step onto this NEW path you won’t lead people back to the old one. You won’t be so quick to resort to old patterns. You need NEW directions. And I am here to give them to you. I am bringing to you the water from the river of life. I am restoring you. I am strengthening you. I am securing you and I am establishing you in a new and exciting way. Now, when you go forward you will go in My strength and My security because I have rebuilt you from the ground up.”

Transition is not your destination. It’s the process that gets you there.

This is about transition; a long and seemingly endless continuum of transition. Transition by definition is the process or period of changing from one state or condition to another. The Ekklesia is in transition. We are currently in a very particular process of transition. The process of change we are in is going deeper and is far more extensive than it has been for the general population of the Ekklesia. In fact, the new foundation of a emerging Ekklesia is dependent upon all of us surviving the extensive and emerging from a process of sifting such as the apostle Peter.

I’m sure I’m not the only one who has been going a bit stir crazy waiting for the word to come to pass.

The Airport Word Picture

In this analogy, getting through the airport is the process. The plane is a vehicle that will get us to our destination (destiny fulfilled). Going through the airport is the process we must endure in order to board the vehicle that will eventually get us where we need to be. Our current destination is in the fulfillment of the vision God has given us concerning the work to which He has called us.

Hebrews 10:36 NLT Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

Back in April 2021, the Holy Spirit spoke this to me: “This time of transition you have been in isn’t just to transition you to a different place. It is to unhook you from where you were so I can anchor you in an entirely new place.”

I believe the entire Ekklesia is in a time of great transition. We are being shifted from one state of being to another. God is using not only our earthly circumstances, but heavenly forces and internal Holy Spirit influence, to bring about that transition. Holy Spirit is using a variety of methods to communicate to us the work that God is doing in our lives. The imagery of the airport is one of those vehicles.

In the TERMINAL things terminate.

The airport terminal is a metaphor for what has to die/end. Some things need to come to a complete end before we can go forward. This is where we say goodbye. We need to face it, even if it’s hard.

Looking at the progression

In a booklet written in 2019, I shared the following prophetic words for each year of the Peh decade. Below is quoted from that booklet.

Looking Back At Where We’ve Been to Get Our Bearings For Going Forward

5780:

The Biblical year 5780, which began September 30, 2019, will be a time for gearing up and continued tanking up for the journey ahead. Like packing for a trip, 5780 will be a time of accumulating the necessary elements and shifting focus. There is much that the decade will bring in the way of challenges and changes. It will be necessary to be properly equipped. This first year will bring the necessary retinue, conveyances and equipment for the mission ahead. It’s more than just a quick gas station stop off. This will be more like getting ready for a lengthy road trip. It’s a time to fuel up. Get a good meal in you and get all the supplies you will need for the excursion ahead. Time for a new assignment, a change in direction. This might include a new vocation, or undertaking of a new task. It could even be a completely new commission and change of business.

5781

5781 will bring the very breath of God as He blows us into the season ahead. It is the breath of 5781 that will carry us through the rest of the decade. This breath will be blowing away relationships which will hinder us from managing the new territory God is bringing us to. I’ll say it again; this breath will be blowing away relationships which will hinder us from managing the new territory God is bringing us to. The breath of the Spirit will blow us in a new direction. It will blow us from one end of the region to another. It might even blow us to another region of the continent or even across the ocean. There will be a dislodging and relocating as a result of this breath. What wasn’t shifted in 5780 will shift in 5781. For those reluctant to make the shift in previous year will experience gale force winds that will move them as the breath of God blows them into a new place. The gentle breath will become a fierce wind by the end of the year. There is a divine agenda being implemented for removing and setting aside our current social involvement and religious commitments (even those we thought would continue in this season).

Those who refuse to make the changes are going to find life get harder. But those who embrace the change will realize quickly that God had this in mind all along. They will be saying, “I wish I had done this sooner.” These changes are what is going to breathe new life into the people of God. This breath is the Spirit of the Living God. This breath brings life. There is so much life in this breath that it literally will feel like a second wind. This is a time for the weary to be revived, for the dead to come to life and the empty to be filled. For those who have felt like they’ve been hanging on by a thread, life will come in the breath to revive them.

While bringing life, this breath is going to blow away mindsets that have held back the people of God. As the breath realigns and reestablishes the people of God (Ekklesia) new life is going to come in.

Connecting it to 5782

1 Peter 5:10 comes to mind as I read that last sentence. God’s heart in the midst of this transition is fixed on restoration and reviving the weary. Let me repeat from above: This breath is the Spirit of the Living God. This breath brings life. There is so much life in this breath that it literally will feel like a second wind. This is a time for the weary to be revived, for the dead to come to life and the empty to be filled. For those who have felt like they’ve been hanging on by a thread, life will come in the breath to revive them.’

As I look back on what Holy Spirit quickened to my heart in 2019 I can see how that played out in my life. There has been a lot of shifting and changes. We are not done shifting. For those who have been reluctant to make the necessary shifts and let go of the old way they will have plenty of opportunity to do so in the months ahead. Once they let go they will experience a freedom and release that will shift them into the new thing. No matter where you are in the process know that you are not alone. We are all being shifted. We are all being called to let go of the old in one fashion or another.

5782 will be a time of establish order in the house of the Lord. The breath of 5781 will bring new mindsets and paradigms and perceptions. The work of the Spirit until now has been to bring a fresh revelation to the Ekklesia concerning the apostolic.

In 5782 the new apostolic order will be busy setting the house of the Lord in order. The mixture of the carnal indulgences and fleshly agendas brought in by prior generations and allowed to remain will begin to wane as apostolic authority sets the house of God in order. God will be separating the holy from the profane. There will be a coming out of agreement with where the world system had previously gotten a foothold in the church.

Continuing – 5783 Began September 26, 2022

5783 will also be a time of the old life ending and new life beginning. It will be a time to hang up the old man and put on the new. It will be a time to shift to go in a new direction. In order to accelerate into the new, the old has to come to a stop. Going forward through this year it will be necessary to make a shift. Taking a turn without downshifting feels like things are going too fast. To the logical mind it doesn’t sound like the right thing to do. However, making fast hard turns is what will be required in 5783. One thing fast on the heels of another. Old life patterns will be ending. New life patterns will begin to take shape. In order to run toward the door, which will appear in 5784, it will be necessary to make certain changes. When the door of 84 appears you’ll be glad you made the changes this year. Listen to Holy Spirit. He has the plan and knows exactly what changes we each need to make. If you remained at Sinai for the Lord’s instructions in 5782 you will be able to easily navigate the turn throughout 5783.

More for 5784

Dalet is the gateway which is opened through humility and repentance. For those who didn’t come running in 5783 do it now. Jesus is calling; “Come to Me and I will give you rest.” Jesus is the door. We go in and out through Him and find rest. How we will spend the next five years is contingent on our posture as we pass through the door of 5784.

“Blessed are the poor in the spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens.” Matthew 5:3 BLB

In order to pass through this door we will have to be on our knees. 5784 is the year to get prostrate as we humble ourselves before God.

The dalet is a poor man (mankind) who receives charity from the rich man (God). Dalet cannot stand on its own. It is only when the dalet, the poor man, humbles himself before God is he made able to stand upright. (That’s the Empowerment of Grace!)

5784, only the humble will pass through the revelatory Revelation 4:1 door.

Those who refuse and remain stubborn will go into a very different experience in the next five years. That’s right. I said, the next five years.

Be humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time. – 1Peter 5:6 NASB

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. (1Pe. 5:5, Ja. 4:6, Pr. 3:34)

Access to God’s dwelling place is granted to the humble and contrite of spirit. The open door of dalet belongs to those of humility and poverty of spirit. The dalet is the first letter of the Hebrew word dirah, to inhabit, live, inhabitant or dwelling. Dalet is the door through which the humble inhabitants are allowed entrance to the kingdom of God.

The penitent one who pass through this door will end up in the treasury room of heaven with God. The proud and stiff-necked will end up having to repeat the cycle again and again until they are brought to a place of bending willingly before God.

Keep in mind this is a word for the church, the Ekklesia. This isn’t about the unsaved. This isn’t about those in the world. God’s people are going into a special intense season of purification and refinement by the Spirit of the Lord. The door to that season opens in 5784.

Therefore whoever will humble himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens. -Matthew 18:4 BLB

Has not My hand made all these things? And so they came into being,” declares the LORD. “This is the one I will esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, who trembles at My word. -Isaiah 66:2 BSB

LORD is near to the brokenhearted; He saves the contrite in spirit. -Psalm 34:18 BSB

It is the penitent who will enter into a time of rest, refreshment, rejuvenation and restoration brought through deliverance, and redemption, which will ultimately connect them with experiencing the goodness of the Lord.

For those who come stiff-necked and unrepentant, the next five years will be extremely difficult and trying.

Humble yourself before God and He will exalt you. The Ekklesia (church) of Christ will pass through the door. We don’t choose the outcome. The outcome will be determined by our posture before God. The humble will pass through this door and end up in the treasure trove of God’s lovingkindness and tender mercies.

The stubborn and self righteous will find themselves in a reoccurring and repeating fiery cycle over the next five years.

The Door (Dalet) will Close Behind Us

The entrance closes once we entered the dalet (the door). It will be important to have already made the adjustments in the last three years to align with the people God has assigned to us to walk alongside. The changes and realignments in 5780 and 81 are vital. We will be drawing from the life source of the cluster with which we are connected. So being rightly aligned will make going through the next five years tolerable. It will be necessary to be and remain connected to the specific individuals, ministries, and in the region God has arranged for us during this season.

That doesn’t mean there won’t be more changes. There will be. But there is a specific source from which one will draw during this season. It will be like drawing water from Jacob’s well or the pool of Shalom.

Don’t fret, “we know that God works together all things for good to those loving God, to those being called according to His purpose,” [Romans 8:28 BLB]

END QUOTE

Everything has been building for such a time as this. The Ekklesia is headed for great things. It’s going to take major transition to get us properly positioned for stepping into all that God has reserved for this generation. The current hardship is preparing us for going forward. It is also being used as a tool for refashion us. If we yield to the process rather than fight it, things will go much easier for us. Grace upon grace is available.

Wrapping it Up

The constant transitions we experienced have discombobulated most of us. We are going to be shifting more in the months ahead. Now is the time to get recombobulated. So, take a seat. Catch your breath. Gather your thoughts. Remember what God has already spoken to you. He is faithfully watching over His word to fulfill it. Mostly, remember who God is. He is the God of all comfort, God of all grace. He is love. He is peace. He is our Father, our Savior and a very present help in times of trouble.

May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you [filling your heart with the spiritual well-being and serenity experienced by those who walk closely with God] ~Jude 1:2 AMP
