5784 Thru a New Door

And onto a New Pathway

2023 was a recovery year. I spent the entire year recovering from Covid – The Extended Version, bronchitis and a variety of other issues. Yeah, weeee. Can I say I’m really glad to finally have access to my brain cells again. I expected 2023 to be a productive year. The only thing I successfully produced was phlegm. Despite wrestling with discouragement, one thing that gave me hope recently was a word I got from the Lord in November. I had a vision of a door of sorts opening mid-January. Yesterday

When I get a word from the Lord I fully expect it to come to pass. I’m also the first one to be surprised when it actually happens. So, yesterday, Sunday January 21, 2024 I saw an opening in the sky while driving home from brunch. It kind of blew my mind. 

I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Grey skies are the norm for mid-January. The whole sky was grey except for this one opening. I was sitting at the traffic light and decided to take a picture. I don’t know if the picture really shows it but it kind of looked like the clouds were being blown out from the opening. It brought to mind the vision I had in November of an opening in mid-January.

11 11 Transition

For the past week I have been consistently getting the numbers 11 11. I am not into numerology, but there are certain numbers that hold personal meaning for me. I understand that the number 11 indicates transition. A number of times over the years when I get 11 11 it will coincide with words and leadings from Holy Spirit pointing to some kind of transition. I don’t usually share these times publicly because it usually points to something personal. Since I shared about the vision of the opening I received in November, I felt it appropriate to follow up. 

Stepping Onto a New Highway

The vision of the opening brought me back to the word the Lord gave me for the Hebraic year 5783. (check out prior posts on Beyond the Dalet) That word was based on a scripture verse the Lord put on my heart for 5783: 1 Peter 5.10

Basically, what I was seeing in the Spirit was a year of recovery and restoration. While it didn’t turn out quite the way I expected 5783 was a time of recovery. In fact, that recovery mode lasted into the beginning months of 5784.

Preparing for a New Road

Since we began the Hebraic Peh decade 5780, in September of 2019, the Ekklesia has begun the process of being prepared for being placed on a new foundation. During 5783 many of the Ekklesia have undergone some final stages of that preparation before being repositioned for accelerating forward on a new highway.

The specific work of grace has been to restore, secure, strengthen and establish. We are not being restored back to a former condition, but restored unto God in a new way, for going forward on a new path.

We cannot take old ways with us on this new journey. We have been getting disentangled from where we were, so we could realign for our new direction.

Something I wrote in 2019 concerning the Hebraic year 5781

The breath of the Spirit will blow us in a new direction. It will blow us from one end of the region to another. It might even blow us to another region of the continent or even across the ocean. There will be a dislodging and relocating as a result of this breath. What wasn’t shifted in 5780 will shift in 5781. For those reluctant to make the shift in previous year, will experience gale force winds that will move them as the breath of God blows them into a new place. The gentle breath will become a fierce wind by the end of the year. There is a divine agenda being implemented for removing and setting aside our current social involvement and religious commitments (even those we thought would continue in this season). Those who refuse to make the changes are going to find life get harder. But those who embrace the change will realize quickly that God had this in mind all along. They will be saying, “I wish I had done this sooner.” These changes are what is going to breathe new life into the people of God. This breath is the Spirit of the

These shifts are vital for going forward

By the time the door opens in 5784, it will be important to have already made the adjustments in the last three years to align with the people God has assigned to us to walk alongside. The changes and realignments in 5780 and 81 were vital. We will be drawing from the life source of the cluster with which we are connected. So being rightly aligned will make going through the next five years tolerable. It will be necessary to be connected to the specific individuals, ministries, and in the region God has arranged for us during this season. That doesn’t mean there won’t be more changes. There will be. But there is a specific source from which one will draw during this season. For those who are still holding onto old ways, destructively dysfunctional relationships, and pride will have great difficulty in the years ahead. We need to shift. We need to be willing to let go of how we’ve always done things. We need to become more effective, not just efficient. Stubbornness and pride will prevent us from shifting.

Authentic Humility is key in 5784.

To the degree we possess true humility will determine our effectiveness. Humility will govern how we progress. God opposes the proud.

But He gives us more and more grace [through the power of the Holy Spirit to defy sin and live an obedient life that reflects both our faith and our gratitude for our salvation]. Therefore, it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD and HAUGHTY, BUT [continually] GIVES [the gift of] GRACE TO THE HUMBLE [who turn away from self-righteousness].”

James 4.6 AMP

It will take humility before God, and engaging with true humility with our fellow man to walk in favor. Those determined to plow through in arrogance and pride will find themselves being opposed by both God and those around them. Bullies, tormentors, dictator types, egocentric tyrants are not going to prevail in the ways they have before; not in the Ekklesia. They are being dealt with by God. It is going to take true humility to rise through the ranks. A new breed of leaders is getting ready to emerge. They possess impressive skills and are motivated by true humility.

Humility is identified by a few predominate factors:

• True humility is not thinking less of yourself, it is thinking of yourself less.
• Being aware of one’s own shortcomings, strengths, abilities and limitations.
• Recognizes and acknowledges the gifts, talents, strengths and contributing abilities of others.
• It is having an honest recognition and acceptance of reality of one’s own worth and value through open-mindedness to truth.
• Humility is the opposite of pride which is self-centeredness seen along a spectrum from ranging from overinflated confidence to exaggerated lowliness.
• A freedom from pride and arrogance.
• Humility cannot develop in us unless we are comfortable with accepting both constructive criticism and encouraging compliments.

Hang On! We are going thru another shift!

Things will be turning in a new direction. We are even now passing through and into something we haven’t seen yet. A new path will be opening up soon. Ask Holy Spirit for eyes to see your new path, and for the grace to accept the new challenges you will meet along the way.
