My journey with Jesus began when I was a little girl, long before I could read the Scriptures for myself. I encountered Him as the Living Word, and even at that young age, I knew something about Him that has remained with me throughout my life. I knew I was loved. I knew He wanted to be my friend. That relationship became the beginning of a lifelong journey of discovering more of the One who first made Himself known to me.
Through the years, I have come to know His love, His comfort, His faithfulness, His generosity, and His goodness in ways that have become deeply personal. I have known His companionship through seasons of joy and through seasons when the way forward was far from clear. And after all these years, I continue to discover that there is so much more of Him to know.
My love for the Scriptures has grown out of that relationship. As I’ve spent time in His Word, I’ve discovered the beautiful ways the Father has made His Son known through the testimony of Scripture. The prophets, the biblical Feasts, the Tabernacle, the Hebrew language, and the many patterns woven throughout the biblical record have become familiar places of discovery. Each has helped me recognize something more about the One I already knew and loved.
That is much of what you will find in my writing. I enjoy lingering with the Scriptures, following the connections that emerge, and allowing the many witnesses to speak. I believe there is a richness in God’s Word that continues to unfold as we return to familiar passages with hearts willing to listen and eyes learning to recognize Him.
Over the years, my understanding of the finished work of Messiah Jesus has also profoundly shaped the way I see our life together as His people. I believe the life He has given us is meant to become visible in the way we love, strengthen, encourage, and care for one another. My heart longs to see His assembly become a place where people can experience genuine love, find restoration, and grow together in the life we have received from Him.
Beyond the Dalet grew out of this continuing journey. It is a place where I share what I have discovered, what I am still learning, and the biblical witnesses that continue to draw my attention to Christ. Some of what I write explores the Scriptures in considerable depth. Other reflections come from the ordinary experiences of walking with Jesus through the years. Both belong to the same journey, and both reflect my desire to know Him more fully.
More than anything, I want others to know the One I have come to know. I want them to discover His love for themselves, to recognize His faithfulness in their own lives, and to experience the joy of genuine companionship with Him. I want them to know that the Scriptures are filled with the testimony of a God who has made Himself known and who continues to invite us into a deeper relationship with Him.
