Beyond The Dalet

Beyond the Doorway

Beyond the Dalet grew out of my life with God and a fascination with the ways He continues to make Himself known. Sometimes a passage of Scripture captures my attention. Sometimes it is a Hebrew letter, a familiar biblical account, or a pattern that begins to emerge between passages I have read many times before. And sometimes it is something quite ordinary in the course of living with God that causes me to stop, wonder, and look again.

Over the years, I have discovered that what first captures our attention can become an invitation into something much greater. Holy Spirit takes what is familiar and begins opening our understanding to recognize something that has been there all along. What begins with a question becomes a journey of discovery, and what we discover invites us to participate more fully in the life we have received in Christ.

The name Beyond the Dalet reflects something of that journey. Dalet (ד) is the fourth letter of the Hebrew alphabet and is associated with the imagery of a door. A doorway gives us access. It offers passage from where we are into what lies beyond. For me, this has become a beautiful reminder of what Messiah Jesus has accomplished.

Hebrews tells us that through Jesus we have been given a new and living way into the presence of God. We are invited to draw near with confidence and full assurance of faith, not because we have earned access, but because He has opened the way. The invitation is already before us, and there is so much to discover as we learn to live from what He has accomplished.

We don’t stop at the doorway; we enter through it.

And as we enter, we find ourselves discovering more of the One who has already welcomed us into His life.

A Place to Linger, Wonder, and Discover

Beyond the Dalet is a place where I share the biblical discoveries, reflections, and personal experiences that have grown out of my relationship with Jesus. Some of these writings invite us to spend time with familiar passages of Scripture. Others take us into the Hebrew language, the biblical calendar, the prophets, the Tabernacle, or the remarkable ways the Father’s witnesses reveal His Son.

There is room here for both the familiar and the unexpected. We can follow a question, linger over a word, explore a biblical pattern, or return to a passage we have known for years and discover something we hadn’t recognized before. We can also consider what those discoveries mean for the way we live, love, and walk with God in our everyday lives.

I believe the Scriptures are filled with treasures worth exploring, and that the witnesses become increasingly meaningful as we recognize the One to whom they testify. There is no need to understand everything before beginning. Sometimes all it takes is a willingness to look again, to remain with a question, and to allow Holy Spirit to open our understanding.

And there is always more to discover.

The Work That Lives Here

What began as personal moments of wonder and discovery has grown into a continuing body of writing, teaching, and reflection. Beyond the Dalet has become a publishing home for the work that has emerged through years of walking with God, studying the Scriptures, and recognizing the life we have received in Messiah Jesus.

Some of that work unfolds through several ongoing series, each offering a different opportunity to explore the Scriptures and reflect upon our life with God.

Along the Way brings us into the ordinary experiences of walking with Jesus, recognizing His companionship, and discovering His faithfulness through the changing seasons of life. These reflections often begin with something personally meaningful, an encounter, a memory, or a moment that causes me to look again at what God has been doing.

Hebrews Reflections invites us to consider the finished work of Messiah Jesus and the life that has been opened to us through Him. As we spend time with this remarkable testimony, we discover more of what it means to draw near to God, live from what Christ has accomplished, and grow in the assurance of all that has been given to us.

Isaiah Discoveries provides room to linger with the prophet Isaiah and recognize the extraordinary testimony woven throughout his words. Here we follow the connections between Isaiah and the rest of Scripture, allowing the Father’s witnesses to reveal more of His purposes and the One in whom those purposes find their fulfillment.

Witness of the Letters takes us into the Hebrew alphabet and its relationship to the biblical calendar. Each letter offers an opportunity to explore the Scriptures, recognize patterns, and consider what becomes visible as we follow these witnesses through the unfolding biblical year.

Life Made Visible Reflections considers what happens as the life we have received in Christ begins to find expression through us. These reflections explore the relationship between what God has established in us and the way His life becomes recognizable in our relationships, our responses, and our life together as His people.

Each of these series offers a different place to begin. You might find yourself drawn to a personal reflection about walking with Jesus, a familiar passage of Scripture, or a Hebrew letter that awakens your curiosity. Wherever you begin, there is room to explore, ask questions, and discover more.

Recognizing the Father’s Witnesses

One of the continuing joys of my life with God has been discovering the many ways the Father has made His Son known throughout the Scriptures. The biblical Feasts, the covenants, the priesthood, the Tabernacle, the prophets, the Hebrew letters, and the testimonies of those who walked with God all have something to contribute to our recognition of Christ.

These witnesses speak across generations and throughout the biblical record. As we begin to recognize their testimony, passages that once seemed unrelated come together in ways that deepen our understanding of what God has revealed. A familiar account takes on greater significance. A prophetic word becomes clearer. Something established centuries earlier is recognized more fully in the finished work of Messiah Jesus.

This larger exploration, Recognizing the Father’s Witnesses — Until Christ Becomes Unmistakable, provides an opportunity to follow those connections with greater attention. We give the witnesses room to speak, allowing the Scriptures to illuminate one another as our recognition of Christ deepens.

Every witness matters, but no witness is the destination. Christ is.

Living from Access Granted

For me, the joy of discovery has always belonged to something much greater than the accumulation of biblical knowledge. I love exploring the Scriptures, following the connections, and recognizing something I hadn’t seen before. But what matters most is the life that opens before us as we begin to recognize the reality of what God has already accomplished.

There is a difference between knowing that something is true and suddenly recognizing the reality of it. The truth itself has not changed. What God has established in Christ remains secure, but our understanding begins to open, and we discover what it means to live from what has already been given.

The finished work of Christ becomes more than something we believe; it becomes the ground beneath our feet. Access to the presence of God becomes more than something Hebrews tells us we possess; we draw near. Life in Holy Spirit becomes more than language we use; we learn to recognize His movement, respond to His voice, and participate in His life.

What we encounter in the presence of God begins to shape the way we live here. Seeing opens into participation. Participation forms us. What is being formed within us begins to find expression in our relationships, our worship, our responses, our choices, our life together, and the ordinary places where Christ becomes visible through people who are learning to live from His life.

This is life beyond the dalet.

And it continues to invite us into the richness of what has already been opened to us in Christ.

When Life Becomes Something to Share

A diverse group of people sitting on grass under a large fruit-bearing tree, overlooking a serene river and rolling hills, engaged in conversation.

Over the years, the work that has grown out of this journey has taken different forms. Some discoveries have become articles and reflections. Others have developed into teaching series and larger manuscripts that allow particular biblical witnesses and themes to be explored more fully.

Foundation Before Platform and Life Made Visible are expressions of that continuing work. Both grew out of my recognition that the life we have received in Christ must precede what we attempt to express through Him. Our foundation is His finished work, and the life that becomes visible through us is meant to flow from what He has already established.

Beyond the Dalet continues to grow as a publishing home for these writings and other works that have developed through the years. My desire is to steward what has been entrusted to me and make it available in ways that encourage others to recognize Christ, understand His finished work, and participate more fully in the life He has given.

There is always more being discovered, more being considered, and more waiting for its proper time to be shared.

Perhaps something you encounter here will capture your attention and invite you to linger a little longer. It may be a passage of Scripture that has suddenly become meaningful in a new way, a biblical connection you had never considered, or a personal reflection that reminds you of the faithfulness of Jesus in your own life.

I hope you will give yourself permission to wonder, to ask questions, and to explore the Scriptures without feeling hurried. There is room to begin with what is familiar and discover more as you go. And there is always the invitation to spend time with the One whose love and faithfulness make the journey worthwhile.

Follow what awakens your curiosity. Linger with the Scriptures. Listen to Holy Spirit, and allow the Father’s witnesses to lead you into a fuller recognition of His Son.
