The Building Plan

I’ve been working on my online presence since January 2019. I’m a bit slow by some standards. For me this has been a whirlwind. I have gone through multiple shifts, changes and turnarounds. At times it felt like getting stuck in one of those traffic circles that you can’t get out. Some days this work has been like a gentle refreshing breeze. Other days it has been gale force winds that have knocked me on my keister.

Today my objective is to just keep moving forward. I am a firm believer in daily chipping away at large overwhelming projects. And this has been huge for me. Staring into the future it feels a bit like I’ve bitten off more than I can chew. At the same time I know that I can accomplish what the Lord has commissioned me to do. My confidence is not in what I think I can manage but in stepping into the assignment the Lord has for me.

I’m still getting my bearings for this new site. So, these blog posts are more like journal entries. And that’s okay from my perspective. Sometimes we just need to process the process. Today, I am processing. Surprisingly I am also accomplishing. What I tried all day yesterday to accomplish came together in about 10 minutes today. Such is life.

In the coming months I will be working on content. Content, content and yes, more content. I believe in only going forward in what the Holy Spirit has empowered me to do. That empowerment comes emerging out of a place of rest and revitalization that comes from having spent time in communion with God. As much as the pile of work that looms ahead I will only produce what the Lord, by His Grace empowers me to do day by day.

Having said that, here’s the plan. This plan does not have a time constraint. I do have a couple of things that I would like to get done by certain dates. However, I have learned by walking with God that as much as I plan I submit that plan to God. His timing is not always what I have in mind. In those cases, His timing trumps mine. I let go of my agenda and embrace His.

Looking Forward

There are seven areas of study. The subjects interconnect with each of the others. They are presented independently yet are interdependent upon the others. The curriculum as a whole weaves a beautiful tapestry while establishing the servant of Christ with similar grid work to that of the first century believers.

Much of the subject matter initiates with the framework and content founded in the New Testament book of Hebrews. Through a thorough study of the Tabernacle, the Priesthood, as well as the biblical calendar we gain a deeper understanding of the redemption and atoning work of Christ. We seek to connect the Old and New Testaments to gain insight and understanding of God, His kingdom and our role as a kingdom of priests.

He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God his Father. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen. Rev 1:6

Now if you will obey me and keep my covenant, you will be my own special treasure from among all the peoples on earth; for all the earth belongs to me.  And you will be my kingdom of priests, my holy nation.’  Exodus 19:5-6

You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor. And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests. Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God. As the Scriptures say, “I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Yes, you who trust him recognize the honor God has given him. But for those who reject him, “The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.” And, “He is the stone that makes people stumble, the rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they do not obey God’s word, and so they meet the fate that was planned for them. But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. “Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.” 1 Peter 2:4-10
