Fresh Strength Is Rising

Strength you receive as you trust Him.

This morning I read this in an email from the prophetic voice of Albert Milton, and I felt a nudge from Holy Spirit. He wrote:

“…Some are stepping out of isolation and loneliness into transition. Others are receiving plans for the next phase. The Lord says He is giving strategy, wisdom, creativity, and fresh ideas. There is movement in this word. Not restless movement, but Spirit-led movement…”

Then he said: “The image of an eagle emerging speaks of fresh strength and higher flight.” As I read that line Isaiah 40:31 came to mind. It’s one of those life verses of mine. In fact Isaiah 40 is a life chapter to me. So of course, I wanted to see what ChatGPT would come up with if I pasted that line and asked it to create an image. And wow.

A majestic eagle soaring above rocky terrain with outstretched wings, set against a dramatic sunset and mountainous backdrop.
You are not lagging behind. You are being strengthened. Your next lift will be effortless.

Here’s what I was getting this morning:

“You are not lagging behind.
You are being strengthened.
Your next lift will be effortless.”

“Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.” – Is. 40:31 NASB

There are those who have been in a season of great weakness. You thought it would have wrapped up awhile ago, Yet that weakness seems as if it will never shift off. Grace is all you have. Your own strength left long ago. It seems you have had no ability of your own to depend on. It’s just gone. Yet, you have not stopped trusting the Lord to fulfill His word to you. It seems as if every effort you made has only dug a deeper pit or lengthened the process. The Lord wants you to know, He has not been punishing you. What seems like endless delay has not been a game just to keep you waiting.

You have struggled with discouragement. You have trusted. And that trust has meant waiting. And the waiting has not been easy. You have been fighting off despair. You thought God stopped listening. You may have even thought He had abandoned you. He didn’t.

God is going to be giving you a renewed vision. That renewed vision that will bring renewed hope. God is speaking the comfort of Isaiah 40 over you today.

Isaiah 40 doesn’t start with just a shift in tone—it’s a reset of vision for a people who have grown weary, uncertain, and disoriented.

The chapter opens by announcing that something has changed.
The season of striving, of feeling disciplined or delayed, is not the final word.

God speaks tenderly—to the heart—not to demand, but to reassure:

  • Your warfare is ended
  • Your debt is settled
  • You are not forgotten

Then comes the image of a way being prepared in the wilderness.

Not because the people found their way back—
but because God Himself is coming to them.

This is the foundation:
restoration begins with His initiative, not ours.

Next comes: “All flesh is grass…”

Human strength, human systems, human timelines—they all fade.

But not His word.

An open Bible on a rock with a sunset backdrop, accompanied by a quote about the permanence of God's word.

This is not meant to diminish God’s people—it’s meant to relieve us.

What holds us is not your consistency.
It is His unchanging nature.

Behold, the Lord God will come with might, with His arm ruling for Him. Behold, His compensation is with Him, and His reward before Him. Like a shepherd He will tend His flock, in His arm He will gather the lambs and carry them in the fold of His robe; He will gently lead the nursing ewes. Isaiah 40:10–11 NASB

“Behold your God.” becomes the central call of the chapter:

Not behold your situation.
Not behold your progress.

Behold Him.

And what is revealed?

  • A God who comes with power
  • And yet gathers like a shepherd
  • Who carries the weak close to His heart

Strength and tenderness are not in tension with Him. He is the complete expression of both.

Then the perspective widens.

God is shown as the One who:

  • Measures the waters in His hand
  • Weighs mountains like dust
  • Sits above the circle of the earth

The point of this is not poetic exaggeration. It is reorientation. It’s a ‘Remember Who God Is’ moment.

We are not dealing with a God who is merely attempting to help us. He is the One who holds all things effortlessly. Yet, we have felt like He hasn’t even seen us.

Why do you say, Jacob, and you assert, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, And the justice due me escapes the notice of my God”? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is unsearchable.” Isaiah 40:27–28 NASB

The problem is not that God has not noticed. He hasn’t been ignoring our plea. Nonetheless, our perspective became shaped by our weariness.

God doesn’t rebuke. He brings encouragement:

He gives strength to the weary, and to the one who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:29–31 NASB

You have not been forgotten.
You are not lagging behind.
You are not unseen.

God has not grown tired of carrying what concerns you.

The strength you need will not come by pushing harder—
It will come. Simply behold Him.
