Through the Open Door
In the Spirit While in the Earth
John’s day started out like any other day. He was overly aware of his earthly situation and the limitations of this earthly physical existence. Here he was still incarcerated to the Isle of Patmos; still confined to the sufferings of this earthly kingdom. He was physically confined but not spiritually limited. His physical boundaries were restricted but the spiritual parameters knew no bounds. Not only did God invade John’s restricted physical situation but before his day was over God would hurl him headlong into an thoroughly different dimension.
Revelation 1:9-10 (NIV) I, John, your brother and companion in the suffering and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island of Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. On the Lord’s Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,
1:12-16 I turned around to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and among the lampstands was someone like a son of man, d dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
The apostle John saw an invisible door and once seen he was whisked through that opened door finding himself in a awesome and mysterious place. It was a very real place. It just wasn’t a physical earthly place. It was a heavenly place, a real tangible place. It was tangible in the sense that it had substance and could be touched and interacted with. It was spiritually tangible. It could be touched and interacted with by the spirit and only by the spirit.
In the Spirit and Out of this World
Revelation 4: 1-6 (NIV) After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits a of God. Also in front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.
Spiritual Things
Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 2:14 (NIV) The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the conviction concerning those things that are in hope, as if it were these things in action, and the revelation of those things that are unseen;– Aramaic Bible in Plain English

THE DALET & HEBREW LETTERS

Dalet is a Hebrew letter. The word dalet means a door. Hebrew letters are also numbers. In the case of the dalet it is the number 4. Specific distinct inherent attributes as well as mysterious spiritual symbols are embedded and encoded within in each Hebrew letter. Unlike the English alphabet which is static, the Hebrew alef-bet is full of Light and Life. While the word dalet means a door it also conveys the idea of a force or energy which moves you from one state of being to another, such as John’s experience in Revelation 4.
Tools for uncovering hidden treasure
In 2006 I was introduced to a method of studying the scriptures which involved digging into the original language and unearthing a deeper or broader meaning than what could be expressed in the English translation. I discovered that a lot gets lost in translation. Not only our English translation of the scriptures but often our modern western American mindsets and lack of biblical history can obscure and detract from the treasure trove contained in the word of God. This method of study is like spiritual archeology. Through this approach we have the potential to unlock mysteries hidden within the original text. These are not secrets hidden from us, but are there waiting to be discovered. They have been there all along and are revealed through the Hebrew text.
Tools of the trade
The original text is made up of Hebrew letters. Uncovering the spiritual dimension within the letters is accomplished through a method of study known as PaRDeS (an acronym for Paradise). The method is simply a tool, like shovels for digging into the scriptures. It is accompanied with biblical exegesis. Below is a chart of the Hebrew letters which I hope you might find helpful.
I added this method of study which I refer to as Devotional Hebrew. I have been a student of the Word of God since I was a young child. I love the Word. I feast on it. Using the Hebrew to unpack the scriptures has been like sitting down to a full seven course meal. It is not a quick run through the drive-thru. It isn’t a five minute quickie before I launch out the door. I live off the treasures I uncover as nourishment for my soul. It feeds my spirit and build up my inner man. I started this blog as an extension of my personal study. I pray that it is a blessing to you.
This blog is very much an ongoing experience for me. This is my first blog and I am still getting familiar with the ropes, so to speak. So please be patient with me as I learn how to do this. I hope that in some way the insights I share can be a blessing. Beyond the Dalet is a work in progress, it’s a journey, my journey. I invite you to join me as I follow the leading of the Spirit through my devotional study. I pray the Lord bless you and like John, you step through the door of the Spirit and enter the tangible presence of God.

Blessings,
Betty
