R U Struggling Right Now?

Here’s my prayer for you.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I take authority over every oppressive and depressive spirit that has come against you. I speak peace to your mind and emotions. I plead the blood of Jesus over your spirit, soul and body. Where the enemy has come against your mind, I declare you have the mind of Christ. That perfect peace is his whose mind is fixed on God. I call your thoughts upward to focus on Christ. I speak healing and deliverance to your entire being, in Jesus’ name. Where you have suffered physically I declare healing to you in the name of Jesus! I speak health, healing and life to your entire being in the name of Jesus!!! May the Lord deliver you from the snare of the enemy and disentangle you from all the devices of evil against you.

We all face difficult times.

The other day I was out for a drive. I needed to clear my head. I was on a familiar road. I’ve been living in this region since I was a child. Some of the land marks I knew then are still around. Yet, somehow I ended up on a different road. I hadn’t turned. It took me a few minutes, but once I check my GPS, I got my bearings again and continued on. But for a few moments, I was completely disoriented.

As I think about it, it is kind of a metaphor for how I’ve been feeling lately. I know the direction I’m going. Yet, for the past week or so, I have felt a little out of it and a fog of confusion came in. Things kind of came to head Thursday night. I was overwhelmed, crying out to God. I felt led to call my sister and ask for prayer. What a difference!!!!!

Sometimes we need Jesus wrapped in flesh. This time, that was my sister. My sister is one of the most loving and giving people I know. I knew if I asked her for prayer she would stop whatever she was doing and pray for me. She did. I can’t tell you how grateful I am.

Keeping up the momentum

It took her prayer, coupled with soaking in the presence of God, ministering to God and allowing Him to minister to me that shifted things even more. What do I mean by soaking? Typically, I turn on anointed worship music, get under my prayer shawl and get alone with Jesus. I focus on God, His mercy, His goodness, His kindness or some other attribute. This time it was the album, Receive Your Healing by Joshua Mills and Steve Swanson.

The difference is phenomenal. My mind is clear, my body is getting strengthened and my soul no longer feels distressed. Thank you, Jesus! I couldn’t help but think about others who might be experiencing something similar. I love how God ministers to us right where we live, in the midst of our daily lives.

When I’m desperate

When I’m desperate, miserable or distressed, I pull out all the stops. I grabbed my anointing oil, take communion and over myself with my prayer shawl. I closed my door and turned off my phone. It was one of those, I have to touch the hem of his garment, times. Yes, I was desperate!

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Matthew 9.20-21

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures

I push myself to come back to basics. Sometimes it’s a struggle, but it’s always worth it. I came back to what I’ve known from the beginning of my walk with Christ. I go to the Word. I go to the Lord in prayer. I rely upon the power of the blood of Jesus and the love of God. I press into His presence to experience His love and healing power. I speak God’s truth out loud over myself. Sometimes I just grab my bible and find some really good passages and read them out loud.

Proverbs 3:5–10 (NASB 2020)
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.
It will be healing to your body
And refreshment to your bones.
Honor the LORD from your wealth,
And from the first of all your produce;
Then your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Scriptures

“LORD, help!” they cried in their trouble,
and he saved them from their distress.
He sent out his word and healed them,
snatching them from the door of death.” – Psalm 107.19-20

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” -I John 1.7

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. – Ephesians 2:13)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8.35-39

When the fog of confusion seems to settle upon us or the swarm that overwhelms, comes against our soul we NEED Jesus! We need people who love and care for us, for sure. Ultimately, Jesus is the only one who can defeat the spiritual forces.

Ephesians 6.10-18 TPT

Now my beloved ones, I have saved these most important truths for last: Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you. Put on God’s complete set of armor provided for us, so that you will be protected as you fight against the evil strategies of the accuser! Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings, but with the highest principalities and authorities operating in rebellion under the heavenly realms. For they are a powerful class of demon-gods and evil spirits that hold this dark world in bondage. Because of this, you must wear all the armor that God provides so you’re protected as you confront the slanderer, for you are destined for all things and will rise victorious. Put on truth as a belt to strengthen you to stand in triumph. Put on holiness as the protective armor that covers your heart. Stand on your feet alert, then you’ll always be ready to share the blessings of peace. In every battle, take faith as your wrap-around shield, for it is able to extinguish the blazing arrows coming at you from the Evil One! Embrace the power of salvation’s full deliverance, like a helmet to protect your thoughts from lies. And take the mighty razor-sharp Spirit-sword of the spoken Word of God. Pray passionately in the Spirit, as you constantly intercede with every form of prayer at all times. Pray the blessings of God upon all his believers. And pray also that God’s revelation would be released through me every time I preach the wonderful mystery of the hope-filled gospel.

The Tide is Turning, Hang On

There is so much going on in the Spirit. There is much transition going on. During times of transition there is a lot of upheaval. Upheaval can get us off balance and be overwhelming. We might not even know why we feel out of sorts. Take come time to get on your own, even if all you have is a few minutes. It doesn’t have to be complicated. The most powerful prayers are the simplest. Ask God for help. He will answer!!
