Purim to Passover – the Homestretch

Hurry its Purim

Those are the words I heard in the Spirit as I began writing this post. I decided rather than go into a teaching on the Jewish observance of Purim I stopped to listen to Holy Spirit. Here’s what I got.

I saw an indoor track ending at Passover 2021

In the Spirit, I saw what looked like an indoor running track. There were hurdles lined up in a straight line. My view was from the last hurdle looking backward. On the hurdle closest to me was written Passover 2021. I understood this to be the last hurdle in the current race. The hurdle just before it was Purim and the one before that was Hanukkah, and the one before that was Feast of Tabernacles. Aha, a timeline, or so I thought. Not as much a timeline as markers indicating the passage of time.

Purim begins Sundown Thursday, February 27, 2021

Then I saw a guy on the track. He was currently hurdling over Purim. Purim is the Jewish celebration commemorating Esther and the defeat of Haman’s intent to annihilate the Jews. (Read the book of Esther for the full story)

What occurred to me, as I saw this guy, was that sundown tomorrow begins Purim. This is now. As I pondered on what this might mean the Lord spoke something in my spirit.

“This year, 2021 Passover begins a new race. One is ending and another is beginning.” Then I saw another picture. I was seeing the past, what was happening before this particular race began. I understood that THIS race began at Passover 2020. I was seeing this person preparing. Before the hurdles were even set up for the race I saw people doing stretches and warm up exercises to prepare. This preparation was how they had been stretched by the Holy Spirit leading up to Passover 2020. It was warming them up for the race ahead. They didn’t know there was something coming that would be as challenging as this past year has been for them. Nevertheless, because they were listening to Holy Spirit and doing what God said they were prepared when the hurdles went up and the race began.

I saw people stretching and warming up

The imagery was definitely an indoor track. And there were a number of hurdles. I didn’t see them all in this vision but enough to know that there had been hurdles every step of the way. Despite the obstacles these people who were prepared were able to sail over the obstacles and keep going.

I sensed a frustration in minds of the runners every time they faced another hurdle. In order to get over the hurdle they had to slow their pace. They never could get at a full speed run, or at least the speed they were used to. They were used to running the race, so to speak, but not with so many hurdles. Because the hurdles caused the runners to have to slow their pace to get over them they were left with a feeling of not getting as much accomplished as they would have liked.

Do you not know that the runners in a race, all run, but only one is victorious? So you must run, that you may obtain victory.

1 Corinthians 9:24 Lamsa

God wants these runners to know. “You have run well. You were prepared by listening and heeding the voice of Holy Spirit, and you are victorious. This has been a different race than you are accustomed to. It required you to slow down in order to overcome the obstacles before you. And you have overcome. Rejoice, and be of good cheer,” says your God, you have overcome. Get ready, a new course is about to begin.”

The current course or cycle is just about over. The new track meet begins just after Passover 2021.

Passover this year is going to mark a shift in the race.

Then I saw the beginning of the next race.

This time I saw an outdoor track and saw someone putting on their running shoes. I head the words, “Get your running shoes on.” What I saw was definitely a bigger track. It isn’t just a straight line like the indoor track.

So since we stand surrounded by all those who have gone before, an enormous cloud of witnesses, let us drop every extra weight, every sin that clings to us and slackens our pace, and let us run with endurance the long race set before us.

Hebrews 12:1 THE VOICE

Then I saw people warming up for the next race. One course is ending and the next will begin shortly. The current race has been preparation for going forward. It was necessary to slow the pace in order to make it over the hurdles on this current course. The next course is going to be completely different. Get ready to run. At first it will be like getting a breath of fresh air to finally be released to run this new race. But you will need that breath to get through this next course. It’s a longer and more demanding race than the one you are just finishing. Stay in step with Holy Spirit and let Him set the pace. You will need the reserves that only the breath of Holy Spirit can bring. He is your air and your stamina in the coming days. You will have need of endurance. So don’t let go of your hope and trust in Holy Spirit’s ability to empower you and thrust you forth.

For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised.

Hebrews 10:36 AMP

Get ready Get set…

Then I heard the Lord say: “You will HEAR the gunshot at the start of the race. You will hear and you will bolt off the blocks at the sound of the BANG! Don’t worry, you won’t miss it. I will make sure that you are fully aware that something new has begun. On this new course you will find yourself laughing and crying, singing and dancing to a new beat. You will find a new rhythm, a new pace. You will find YOUR new pace. This isn’t about competing with someone else. It’s about running the race set before YOU. This is YOUR race, YOUR life. Get ready.”

I pray the Lord bless you and keep you, causing His face to shine upon you, granting you peace.
