Desperate times call for desperate measures

Image result for super seriousMy mom used to hate it when I would make a joke when she was being serious. She’d practically have a core melt down. When I became a mom and my four sons pull that with me I often had the same reaction. However, a bit of levity can do tremendous good when you are swamped with super serious stuff. I’m working on my latest book. It’s super serious stuff. To say that I am overwhelmed with data and the seriousness of the topic puts it mildly. So, when I get stuck in my head and can’t find a way out I meditate on Psalm 119:130:

The unfolding of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.

So I was going to do this whole thing on the Hebrew words pathach and pathi. Pathach is translated as unfolding in the NIV. However, pathach means to open, or wide, or spacious. The word pathi, translated as simple or in some translations as gullible is the one getting the understanding. Pathi refers to someone who is ingenuous.

giphy.gifWhen my brain is spinning and I can’t get out of the rut I’ve created Psalm 119:130 is my only hope. I could go into a whole teaching thing that would bore you to tears. Instead I think it’s best to just walk you through the steps I take to casting off my data saturated grey cells and grownup paradigms.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. It’s time to YouTube some silly stuff. I have a favorite kick off. I’ll get you started with these.

By the way, the educated adult rational and intellectual mind goes berserk at the thought of such silliness. That’s why it works. I’ve been trudging through pretty heavy studying lately. Today I decided it is time to pull out the big guns. Time to be silly.

My first effort toward incredibly silly is the California Raisins. Catchy tune and claymation veggies- gotta love it.

Next is one of my favorites from Sesame Street .

If you liked that one here’s another

Here’s a bit of old school humor

And the pinnacle of silliness with Pinky and the Brain

That’s a wrap. I feel so much better now. I’m taking the rest of the day off. I think I need a ride on the swings. See you all later.

I don’t know if it helped you but it sure helped me.

Have a great day. Don’t forget to schedule some fun. Your brain will thank you.
